EELC files public comment regarding proposed waste transfer station in Ocean County

EELC has filed a public comment with Ocean County, NJ objecting to a proposed solid waste transfer station to be built in a DEP-designated overburdened community in Lakewood Township. The station, designed to facilitate the collection of garbage and its transfer to the county landfill, would severely impact the Lakewood Township community by causing noise and air pollution as well as greatly increasing the volume of trucking traffic in the area.

The comment was filed on behalf of a local community group, The Concerned Neighbors of the Proposed Lakewood Waste Transfer Station, and can be read here.
