Maggie Broughton

EELC proudly welcomes Maggie Broughton

Eastern Environmental Law Center is excited to announce that Maggie Broughton will join our team as a new staff attorney (bar admission pending) to focus primarily on environmental justice. Maggie’s docket will include working in partnership with community groups and environmental justice organizations that advocate for overburdened communities throughout New Jersey.

Maggie is a highly-skilled and motivated professional, with substantial experience in environmental law and environmental justice in particular.  Maggie earned both a J.D. and a master’s degree in Environmental Law & Policy from Vermont Law School, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law and received several accolades for legal writing.  As an intern with the Southern Environmental Law Center, Maggie worked with communities to improve conditions that would be unthinkable to many Americans: exposure to cyanide-laced water and pollutants from concentrated animal feeding operations.  Prior to joining EELC, Maggie also worked on Clean Water Act permitting issues as an intern with Super Law Group, LLC, an environmental law firm in New York City.

EELC welcomes Maggie onboard and looks forward to connecting her with our clients and partners at this pivotal moment in New Jersey’s environmental justice movement.
